Privacy Policy
The short version
Swipeling helps two people find a baby name together. We store the minimum needed to do that: your sign-in identity, your couple link, and your swipes. We don't sell data, we don't show ads, and we can't see anything you haven't put in the app.
What we store
- Account: when you sign in with Google or Apple we receive your email address and name. We never see your password; there are no passwords here.
- Couple: an invite code links your account with your partner's. Your swipes, ratings and custom names are visible to your partner and no one else.
- Swipes and ratings: which names you liked, passed, and how much you loved them. This is the whole point of the app, and it is private to your couple.
- Custom names: names you add yourselves, visible only to your couple.
- Surnames you enter for the full-name preview.
- Diagnostics: if the app crashes, we receive anonymised error reports (via Sentry) to help us fix it. These contain no name preferences.
- Purchases: the optional one-time unlock is processed by Apple or Google and validated by RevenueCat. We never see card details.
- Notifications: a device push token so we can tell you when you and your partner match on a name.
What we deliberately do not do
- No selling or sharing of personal data with third parties.
- No advertising, no trackers, no analytics profiles of your pregnancy.
- No reading of your contacts, photos, location or anything else on your phone.
Where it lives
Data is stored with Supabase (our database provider) in London, United Kingdom (a country with an EU adequacy decision under the GDPR), protected by row-level security: each couple's data is technically isolated at the database layer. Payments (the optional one-time unlock) are processed by Apple or Google; we never see card details.
Your controls
- Leave couple: removes your access; shared swipes stay with the couple.
- Delete account (in Settings → Advanced): permanently deletes your account, your swipes, ratings and custom names. No grace period, no backup copy kept.
- Questions or requests: oscar@elscargames.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the Swedish privacy authority (IMY) under the GDPR.
Legal bases (GDPR)
We process your data to provide the service you asked for (contract), and the match notifications because the app can't work without them (contract). We do not process special-category data; name preferences are not a pregnancy record, and we draw no inferences from them.
Children
Swipeling is for adults choosing names, not for children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
